One of the most moving sights of the fall is coming back to our backyard. Utah State Parks says Follow the Flag “will be returning to Snow Canyon for Veterans Day week,” with the giant American flag on display at Snow Canyon State Park in Ivins from November 8 through 14, 2026.

A Snow Canyon tradition

Follow the Flag is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to “honor, heal and inspire.” Its flight history shows the flag has flown in the St. George area each November since 2023, and this year’s flight is billed as part of celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. The group says its events only happen when volunteers step up, and it takes volunteer sign-ups on its website.

Why it matters for Ivins

Seeing the flag against Snow Canyon’s red and white cliffs is a simple way to thank the veterans who live among us. It’s also a good excuse to get outside on a crisp November morning in one of the prettiest parks in Southern Utah, just minutes from home.
